In the meantime I familiarized myself with the file selection interface. It's easy after I follow the order in which they are displayed. I'm skipping the problematic files and moving on. Problem solved.

I'm telling everybody File Scavenger® is the best data recovery app.

Tests (Oracle databases) have just been performed. Data is perfectly recovered.
