Licensing
You can purchase a Personal Use or Professional Use license online through our web site or by calling us. Then click Licenses on the Help menu to unlock File Scavenger®.
A Personal Use license can be used on one computer. It provides all features except for recovery from broken RAID or spanned volumes, VMFS volumes and VMDK or VHD/VHDX files. These features require a Person-Use premier license with RAID support or a Professional-Use license.
A Personal Use license can be transferred from the original computer to a second computer in the following
scenarios:
- The original computer is being retired and replaced by
the second computer.
- The license is bought for
testing on the original computer. The actual use is intended for the second computer.
The right to transfer a
license is not intended to allow the license to be used as a floating license
among multiple computers. A Personal Use license is for a single computer.
A Professional Use
license is registered to a named individual and can be used by him or her on
any computer as a roaming license. When you purchase a Professional Use license, you will receive a license file. Click Licenses on the Help menu to display the
Licenses dialog. Select License Mode, click I have a Professional-use license file,
browse to and select the license file to unlock File Scavenger®.
The Professional Use license provides all features including RAID volume reconstruction.
A Professional Use license
can be transferred to a second individual when the original licensee no longer
intends to use the program, such as in the case of permanent change in job
assignments. The right to transfer a license is not intended to allow sharing
one license among multiple users.
File Scavenger can be
downloaded from http://www.quetek.com. A demo license is automatically available
for testing purposes. This license allows saving files with up to 64 kilobytes of data. (Saving a file in demo mode does not affect its future recoverability because File Scavenger® does
not modify the source disk.) You can also preview a picture file (i.e., files with such extensions as JPG, BMP, PNG, TIF, GIF, etc.) of any size by right-clicking on it and click Preview. A full license can be purchased online through the QueTek website.

and extended support hours are as follows:
- At least 90% of emails received between 8 AM to 5 PM
on working days will be handled within 30 minutes.
- At least 90% of emails received between 6 AM to 10 PM
on working days will be handled within 2 hours.
- At least 99% of emails will be handled within 24 hours
including holidays.
